GREEK ORTHODOX FIRE APPEAL – Message from our Archbishop

My dear friends,

With great sadness and heartache, we find ourselves in the midst of a fire crisis, which has unfolded in front of our eyes in recent days, here in our blessed Australia. We share the grief of the families and friends who lost their loved ones, including volunteer firefighters, who lost their lives while heroically battling hellfire. Beyond the precious human lives lost, the destruction of thousands of hectares of land, fruit trees, precious vineyards, local businesses, innocent wildlife and thousands of homes, the fires have created serious living problems for many of our fellow humans. Our Parish was honoured to welcome His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to our Church on Wednesday 7 August 2019. His Eminence presided at the Paraklesis to the Theotokos, and met many members of our Parish.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit – Talk by Fr Themis

Listen to part of a talk given by Father Themis Adamopoulos visiting from Sierra Leone, West Africa, on the topic of ‘Gifts of the Holy Spirit’.

The talk was given to the St Vasilios & Presentation of Our Lord Youth Group, Tuesday 1 May 2018, at St Vasilios Church Hall.

Elder Iakovos Tsalikis Canonized

It has been announced that today, 27 November 2017, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate has canonized the late Elder Iakovos Tsalikis.The petition for his canonization was submitted by the Holy Metropolis of Khalkida and 22 November has been appointed as his feast day.
